This lens is ideal for an amateur photographer looking to upgrade or a professional photographer looking for an affordable new lens to experiment with. With features such as high precision aspherical lens, 185 g weight, metal mount, 5 blade apertures and auto focus feature the Canon 28 mm 2.8 is by far the most affordable lens in its range. When tested scientifically the lens was found that the performance was the best when at maximum aperture and worse when it reached medium aperture. Most cameras look better when you step down the lenses but with the 5-bladed aperture the Canon 28mm 2.8 has been proven to be better when used at maximum aperture. For just over $200 you can buy the Canon 28 mm 2.8 with a one year warranty and rest assured you are getting the best deal of its kind. Many accessories are available at a discounted price when you purchase the camera such as carrying cases, close up lens and lens holders.

The Tamron 18-270mm is a Firm FavoriteAs far as all-purpose lenses go, the Tamron 18-270mm ranks as one of the best in my books. It comes in mounts for either Canon or Nikon and the range of this lens is quite extraordinary. Everything, from wide-angle to almost telephoto shots, is possible and it certainly cuts down on the amount of lenses you have to carry around or change. In typical Tamron fashion, the barrel of this lens is constructed of lightweight plastics while the sub-structure and mount is metal. You don’t have to worry that the plastic takes away from the quality however, as the lens feels very sturdy while remaining easy to carry around. The camera body I use is quite large so this lens did not make it feel too heavy at the front but if you are using a smaller body, this might be an issue. Another thing owners of small camera bodies should bear in mind is that the lens could obscure the built-in flash.
